Rush Memorial

A campaign to raise $1 million toward a permanent Neil Peart memorial in Lakeside Park in St. Catharines ON has reached its target after Rush donated $785,000 to the cause. The park, on the shores of Port Dalhousie, where Peart spent his youth, inspired the song ‘Lakeside Park’, from Rush’s 1975 album “Caress of Steel”.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Headlining 25th Anniversary Celebration

Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the Los Angeles’ Silverlake Conservatory of Music’s 25th anniversary celebration. The Oct. 17 all-star benefit concert at the Hollywood Palladium will also feature Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, Vince Staples and comedian Marc Maron. Chili Peppers bassist Flea is one of the co-founders of the school.

Naked Eyes Lead Singer Passes Away

Peter Byrne, the singer of the 1980s English synth-pop duo, has died at age 74. A press release says that Byrne “died peacefully in Los Angeles on…Sept. 14, after a brief illness.” The group reached #8 on the Hot 100 in 1982 with ‘Always Something There to Remind Me.’

Bob Dylan's Live Recordings Box Set

Bob Dylan will release the box set “The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1976 Live Recordings” on Nov. 6. Spanning nearly 40 discs, it documents the second leg of Dylan’s historic 1976 Rolling Thunder Revue tour. “Almost all” of that segment’s 27 show dates “are represented in the 371 never-before-heard tracks”, according to a press release.

 

Tom Petty Tribute with Chris Stapleton

Next month will mark the 10-year anniversary of his death. Since then, members of his band, the Heartbreakers, have played together on special occasions, but never the full lineup, and never as the Heartbreakers. That changed Wednesday when founding members performed with Chris Stapleton to open the Americana Awards, before receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Spice Girls Box Set Released

 Following a teasing campaign that convinced many fans that a reunion was coming, they announced “The Singles Collection”, a box set featuring singles, B-sides, and previously unreleased material. Ozzy Osbourne's Final Concert Coming to Theaters

His final concert is coming to a movie screen near you. “Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning” will hit theaters Oct. 28. The movie chronicles the farewell show by Osbourne and his Sabbath bandmates, a blowout all-day, all-star hard rock gathering in Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham UK at Aston Villa football club’s stadium Villa Park on July 5, 2025.

The Who - Documentary Premiere

The new documentary “Pete Townshend: Behind Blue Eyes” premiered at the Telluride Film Festival over the weekend. One writer called it a “rock ride, with plenty of great archival footage that’s never been seen before,” including Townshend’s home movies and outtakes from the Who’s 1970 Isle of Wight performance.)

Billy Joel's Bandmate Passes Away

His former bandmate Jon Small has died. The one-time best friend’s complicated past with Joel was revisited in the 2025 HBO documentary “Billy Joel: And So It Goes,” where Billy acknowledged he deserved the punch in the nose Jon gave him over his affair with Small’s wife, whom he eventually married. Oasis Concert Recordings Auction

A collection of 63 Oasis concert recordings worth over $2 million will be auctioned off next month, and Noel and Liam Gallagher are “unhappy” about it. The over 100 hours of rehearsal tapes, soundcheck recordings, and “unfiltered” conversation between band members will be sold by Littleton Auctions, which says the brothers have “expressed concerns” about the sale.
