Tom Petty's Big Tease

The late rocker’s official Instagram is teasing some big news. A post reads: “We’ve been working on something really special for a long time for the core Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers fans.” It continues, saying: “We think you’ll be delighted at what’s to come this fall.” A countdown on Petty’s website indicates an announcement is coming this Friday. 

 

 

Oasis Reunion Tour!

Following a 15-year feud, co-founders and siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher have confirmed a much-rumored reunion tour. Oasis will play 14 UK shows beginning next August, including 4 at London’s Wembley Stadium. Other stops include Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Tickets go on sale this Saturday. 

 

 

Dave Stewart's Upcoming Movie

A movie about Dave Stewart is headed to the big screen. Shekhar Kapur has been hired to direct “Ebony McQueen”, based on Stewart’s 2022 semi-autobiographical album of the same name. It follows Stewart’s teen years in North East England in the 1960s/early 1970s, when he discovered music after hurting his knee playing soccer. Stewart will contribute music to the film.

 

Men at Work Back on Tour

Men at Work is headed back out on the road this fall. The Aussie band, led by frontman Colin Hay, is will kick off a fall US tour in Dallas, with stops in New Orleans, Charleston, Ft. Lauderdale, Raleigh, Denver and more, before wrapping Nov. 3 in Del Mar CA. Hay has been touring as a member of Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band since 2018.

NSYNC's 'Bye Bye Bye' Tops Charts AGAIN!

Their 2000 hit ‘Bye Bye Bye’ is back in the top 10. This week, it moved up to #8 from #16 on the Billboard Global Excl. US) chart, fueled by its inclusion in the blockbuster “Deadpool & Wolverine”. The song is currently #45 on the Hot 100, which includes US data.

Huey Lewis' TV Show

Huey Lewis is getting his own TV show. He’ll star as himself in “Whatever Happened to Huey Lewis”, a fictionalized version of his life. It is said to be a “Curb Your Enthusiasm-style” show, centering around Lewis’ efforts to navigate “his new life after losing his hearing.” The show is in development at Fox.
 

Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony ROCKED

Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billie Eilish were among those who rocked the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony yesterday. The show, featuring those prominent LA-based acts, as well as actor Tom Cruise, served as a handover for the 2028 L.A. Olympic Games. US Olympic torchbearer and NBC Olympics commentator Snoop Dogg also performed, and H.E.R. sang the US national anthem.

Rod Stewart to Continue Final Tour in March 2025

Despite the fact that he was forced to cancel what was supposed to be the 200th, and final, show in his 13-year Vegas residency due to strep throat, he has announced that he’ll return next year for shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from March 12-22 and May 29-June 8. Sir Rod has since postponed shows in Nevada and California, after a COVID-19 diagnosis.
