Carlos Santana Adds Shows to Residency

He and his band have added additional shows for next year to their well-received residency at House of Blues Las Vegas inside Mandalay Bay. Dates in Jan, Feb. and May will bring the heralded residency into its 14th year.

'The Who' Members Collaboration Coming Soon...

After a year mostly spent apart, Pete Townshend has confirmed that he and Roger Daltrey will be working together again in 2025. Quote: “We’re in good form. We love each other. We’re both getting a bit creaky, but we will definitely do something next year.” They group last toured in 2023.

Bruce Springsteen's Frivolous Spending

Bruce Springsteen says he’s not a billionaire. After Forbes reported in July that the blue-collar hero has an estimated fortune of $1.1 billion, he said to the UK’s Telegraph this week: “I wish I was (a billionaire), but they got that real wrong.” He noted that he’s spent “too much money on superfluous things,” without specifically mentioning what those things are.

Phil Lesh Passes Away

Grateful Dead bassist and founding member Phil Lesh has died at 84. The news was announced on his Instagram, saying he died “peacefully” on Friday morning. The sad news came just after it was announced the band will be honored as 2025 MusiCares Persons of the Year ahead of 67th Grammy Awards on Feb. 2.

 

 

Blondie to Release New Music

Blondie plans to release a new album in 2025. Guitarist and co-founder Chris Stein broke the news on Instagram, sharing a black-and-white photo of Debbie Harry in the studio, and writing: “New Blondie album next year.” It’ll be their first new record since “Pollinator” in 2017.

Fleetwood Mac Member Biography to be Released

Nov. 19, the book “Songbird: An Intimate Biography of Christine McVie” will be published. It is written by McVie’s friend Lesley-Ann Jones, and according to publisher Hachette Books, it contains “new contributions from those who knew her best (and) a true insider’s view and psychological insight into Christine as a both a woman and a musician.”

U2's Documentary Release

U2 has shared a short documentary about the making of the video for their 2004 hit ‘Vertigo’. It is part of the band’s celebration of the 20th anniversary of “How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb”, which includes a remaster of the album and what they’re calling a ‘shadow album’, named “How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb”, with 10 unreleased songs from the era, on Nov. 29.
 

 

Ozzy Announces New Album

In time for his Rock Hall of Fame induction, he announced the March 14 release of “See You On The Other Side V2.0”, featuring his complete 18-album solo discography in a limited edition, numbered black vinyl box set, for $600. Just 2,000 copies will be made.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Newest Inductee

Foreigner was inducted by Sammy Hagar at Saturday’s ceremony. Demi Lovato and Slash joined the group for ‘Feels Like the First Time’, and Hagar took lead for ‘Hot Blooded’. Kelly Clarkson was joined by Lou Gramm for ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’. Other inductees included Cher, Kool & the Gang, Dionne Warwick, Ozzy Osbourne and Peter Frampton.

Shaboozey's Breaking Records

‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ is now in the midst of an amazing 18th week at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, tying Florida Georgia Line’s ‘H.O.L.Y.’ for the 12th-longest run at #1 since the chart began in 1958.

Will Queen Release New Music?

Queen are discussing new music. The group hasn’t put out an album since 1995’s “Made In Heaven”, 4 years after the death of frontman Freddie Mercury. Roger Taylor quote: “Brian (May) and myself were talking the other day, and we both said that if we feel we have some good material, why not?”

Alex Van Halen Clears the Air

In his new book “Brothers” (out Oct. 22), Alex Van Halen claims that the much-speculated about tribute tour to Eddie Van Halen never happened partly due to his back problems, and partly because David Lee Roth pretty much shot the idea down before it got off the ground. 

 

 

Bruce Springsteen Like Never Before

The special “Bruce Springsteen: Backstage and Backstreets” will debut on ABC this Sunday, and on Hulu and Disney+ the next day. It promises to take fans on the road for the final few weeks of this recent world tour with the E Street Band, and is hosted by George Stephanopoulos of “Good Morning America."

 

 

Ozzy's Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Ozzy Osbourne has announced that he’ll be inducted into the Rock Hall at the October 19 ceremony by actor/musician Jack Black. And performing in a star-studded tribute band to the Prince of Darkness will be Billy Idol, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan and country star Jelly Roll.

Gene Simmons to Guest Judge DWTS

Gene Simmons will serve as guest judge on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” tonight. Kiss’ hit ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ will soundtrack the opening number of the show, which has been titled “Hair Metal Night”.

Sammy Hagar Celebrates in Style

Sammy Hagar got a head start on his birthday festivities over the weekend with a pair of Las Vegas shows. Hagar, who turns 77 on Sunday, played the prelude to his annual birthday bash at the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and was joined onstage Friday by Rick Springfield to perform ‘I’ve Done Everything for You’, a Hagar single that was a hit for Springfield in 1981.

Mariah Carey is Gearing up for Christmas

Mariah Carey posted a cheeky video of herself lounging in a jet and preparing for takeoff when the opening notes of ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ play. The pilot announces: “Welcome aboard, Mariah. We are headed to the North Pole.” After a record scratch sound, Carey calls back, “Not yet! Sorry – They always rush me.”
