Roger Taylor Drops Solo Album

Roger Taylor will drop his new solo album “Violence Insane in a Beautiful World” on Sept. 18. Taylor quote: “There is a theme…it’s in the title really, what a beautiful world we live in, don’t (frig) it up.” The song ‘Come On Summer (It’s Time To Party)’, featuring The Ndlovu Youth Choir from South Africa, is available now. The Rolling Stones Announce New Collab

The Rolling Stones have announced another collab in connection with their upcoming album “Foreign Tongues”. They’ve teamed with Marvel for 5 collectible vinyl variants, inspired by ‘Spider-Man’, ‘Captain America’, ‘Wolverine’, ‘Thor’ and ‘The Hulk’. Black Sabbath Member Receives Kings Honor

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been named an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours. 78-year-old Iommi is being recognized for his services to music and charity. He posted: “What an unbelievable honour to receive an MBE.” Having been diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012, he became an advocate for cancer patients. He has also dedicated himself to humanitarian work such as international disaster relief.

Foreigner Drops New Cover

Foreigner has dropped a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s classic ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’. It’s the latest song to be released from their upcoming live album “In the Eye of the Storm”, out July 24. The group is currently on a European tour, and will kick off their “Double Trouble Double Vision” tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd on July 23 in Alpharetta, Georgia. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/65kh92ht

The Who Celebrates 50th Anniversary

 The Who is celebrating the 50th anniversary of their “Who Put the Boot In” tour with a set of limited-edition soccer jerseys (or football jerseys, as they say in the UK). Why soccer jerseys? Stevie Nicks Makes Major Donation

Stevie Nicks made a major donation to University of Southern California to help reach a $3 million fundraising goal for an endowed chair at the Keck School of Medicine at USC. It’s to honor Dr. Joseph Sugerman, Nicks’ longtime ear, nose and throat specialist. She credits him with keeping her legendary pipes healthy “Through late nights on the road, years of touring, (and) hours in the recording studio.”

Prince's Estate Drops Unreleased Music

His estate dropped the unreleased song ‘Stone’ on Friday. It is a 1995 recording taken from the archives, and will appear on the 10-song album “Timeless”, out Aug. 28. The tracklist spans from 1977-2016, the first time a collection of Prince songs has included every iconic phase of his career. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/5y55mz6z

Confessions II at Tribeca Film Fest

At Friday’s premiere of “Confessions II”, Tribeca Film Fest organizers told fans to expect: “an ambitious visual work exceeding 10 minutes, built around the first 6 tracks of Madonna’s forthcoming album.” They ended up seeing “a surrealistic polyptych of women with lasers shooting out of their private parts, Benedict Cumberbatch voguing in a bathroom, and Madonna in her various personae”, according to Rolling Stone.

Go-Go's Taking Part In Rock Fantasy Camp

Belinda Carlisle and Kathy Valentine are taking part in the upcoming 4th edition of the Women’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp. It takes place Nov. 5-8 in Los Angeles, and will also feature Cherie Currie of The Runaways and Kate Pierson of The B-52’s. Campers will get to jam with the all-star guests, culminating in performances at the famed Whisky a Go Go and Viper Room in LA. LINK: RockCamp.com

 

Foreigner To Release New Album

Foreigner will release “In The Eye of the Storm” on July 24th. Fans can purchase the new album with exclusively signed vinyl and CD inserts by band members Jeff Pilson, Luis Maldonado, Bruce Watson, Michael Bluestein, Chris Frazier, and John Roth. Madonna To Cover Rent For Musicians

Madonna is a pop legend, but she hasn’t forgotten where she came from. She’s teaming up with loyalty program Bilt to cover one month of studio rent for all musicians who are currently leasing space at The Music Building in Manhattan. Madonna herself used to play in that same rehearsal facility when she started building her career in the 1970s.
