I want my 80's Tour!

In case you missed it, they announced this summer’s “I Want My ’80s” US tour, in which the artists will share the stage each night. Paul Young and John Cafferty will appear as special guests at select shows. The fun starts May 28 in St. Petersburg FL. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/ms46s9fv

Fountains of Wayne Reunion

Fountains of Wayne are reuniting for their first full performances since the death of founding member Adam Schlesinger in 2020. The power pop band — best known for ‘Stacy’s Mom’ – will play Milwaukee’s Summerfest over the July 4 weekend, plus the Oceans Calling Festival in Ocean City MD on Sept. 26. Eve 6’s Max Collins will step in on bass for the performances.

Sheryl Crow's Donation to NPR

Sheryl Crow is selling her Tesla and donating the cash to NPR. That’s in response to Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s DOGE campaign to cut federal programs. Crow posted a vid of her happily waving as her Tesla is hauled away, and wrote: “My parents always said… you are who you hang out with. Backstreet Boys Residency

Backstreet Boys have added 3 shows to their upcoming Into the Millennium Las Vegas residency at the Sphere on Aug. 1, 2, and 3. In addition, they announced that on July 11, the day the residency starts, they’ll drop “Millennium 2.0”. That’s a deluxe 25th anniversary edition of “Millennium”, with bonus live songs, demos and B-sides.

Roy Orbison's Biopic

His family has teamed with Compelling Pictures for a biopic and a documentary on the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer. The feature film is being described as “a romance more than a traditional biopic,” telling the story of Orbison’s relationship with his wife and manager, Barbara, who helped guide his comeback in the ’80s. It has a working title of “You Got It”, after his posthumous 1989 hit single.
 

Black Sabbath's Final Concert Lineup

Guns N’ Roses have been added to the lineup for Black Sabbath’s final reunion concert on July 5. Other new additions include Tool, Rival Sons, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, songwriter-producer Andrew Watt, bassist Dave Ellefson, and Jason Momoa (as host) for the show at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.

Lifetime Achievement Awards Given at the Grammys

Prince and the Clash were among those honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the Grammys’ Special Merit Award ceremony on Saturday. The award is presented to artists who “have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.” Other recipients this year included Frankie Valli and Taj Mahal.

 

 

David Bowie's Live Performance Album Release

The new live album “Ready, Set Go! (Live, Riverside Studios ’03)” will be released for Record Store Day April 12. It is a recording of Bowie’s 2003 interactive music satellite event in London.  The one-off concert featured Bowie’s first-ever live performance of his then-new album “Reality”. The song ‘New Killer Star’ is available now.

Nicole Kidman's 'Your Song' Handwritten Lyrics by Elton John

Nicole Kidman owns the handwritten lyrics to his first international top 10 single, 1970’s ‘Your Song’. While on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, the “Babygirl” actress was asked if she’d ever asked for anyone’s autograph, and she shared that she had asked John to autograph the document. Your Song played a crucial part in Kidman’s 2001 film “Moulin Rouge”.
