(Richmond, IN)--A couple of weeks ago, volunteers participated in the annual Point in Time count to find homeless people. The count is done on a national basis and included Wayne County. It was done on the night of January 23. The results have just been released. In Wayne County, 26 homeless people were found in various locations. Those 26 were people who were actually living either outside, in cars, or in abandoned buildings. It does not count people who are staying in shelters like the Hope House or those who are "couch surfing" - staying with different friends and family members. In Connersville, 14 people were found. That included three infants and two children under the age of five.
