RICHMOND FALLS SHORT OF STATE'S COVID-19 TESTING GOALS

(Richmond, IN)--Richmond stands to lose its Covid-19 testing site if more people don’t use it.  That was one of the messages from the Wayne County Health Department to the Health Board Thursday.  The state has set a goal of 135 people per day to be tested, but just a small fraction of that number is actually showing up for free testing.  The state is expected to reevaluate the site in less than ten days.  Meanwhile, local health officials said that the county is on a downward trend for infection but encouraged residents to continue to take precautions.  Reid Health reported its one hundredth positive test Thursday, but the number of people in containment areas is slowing coming down.
