(New Madison, OH)--A couple of weeks ago, New Madison residents were warned to make sure their vehicles were locked after a rash of overnight car burglaries. Now, a suspect is in custody. A deputy saw a suspicious man on Railroad Street in the middle of the night. That man dropped several items as he fled on foot. He ran into an apartment. Deputies recovered multiple stolen items there and arrested 28-year-old Matthew Spence of New Madison. Spence was in the Darke County Jail Tuesday morning.
